My name is Matthew and I'm a 4th year linguistics major with a minor in music recording at Northeastern University. I grew up between Southeast Massachusetts and Rhode Island. I am interested in the connection between sound and language, and as such acoustic linguistics and phonetics are areas that I see myself exploring more in the future. I also enjoy learning about sociology and I have taken a lot from classes like Language and Gender and Black Power and Higher Education. I grew up bilingual speaking Cape Verdean Creole, and I began self-studying Korean later on in high school. I enjoy making beaded jewelry and baking. Recently, I have started playing guitar and writing music for fun. Some of my favorite artists include PinkPantheress, Beabadoobee, and Marina. Some of my favorite genres of music are Pop, Indie, K-Pop, Alternative, and Rap. In the future, I hope to be doing some kind of work with music production.
